Seth Meyers Unloads On Trump For ‘Shady,’ ‘Shameless’ Russia Dealings

Hours after The Washington Post reported that President Donald Trump gave highly classified information about ISIS to Russian officials, Seth Meyers said it felt like the country had reached ?peak Trump insanity.?

Meyers recapped the news over the past few days, including Trump blatantly contradicting his White House surrogates and admitting that he considered the FBI?s investigation into his campaign team?s relationship with the Kremlin when he fired Director James Comey.

?Trump just admits to wrongdoing and then dares the rest of us to do something about it,? Meyers said, calling the behavior somewhat disorienting.

He later argued that the president was even more deceitful than President Richard Nixon.

?He?s shameless Nixon,? Meyers added. ?Nixon famously said, ?I am not a crook.? Trump is basically saying, ?I am a crook, and there?s nothing you can do about it. In fact, after dinner tonight, I?m having three scoops of ice cream.??

Watch Meyer?s takedown in the clip above.

Hayley Hasselhoff, Daughter Of David Hasselhoff, Arrested For DUI

Hayley Hasselhoff, daughter of actor David Hasselhoff, was arrested on Saturday for driving under the influence, the Los Angeles County Sheriff?s Department confirmed to The Huffington Post.

Hasselhoff, who appeared on ABC?s ?Huge? and in ?Sharknado,? was reportedly driving on the 101 freeway around 4 a.m. when her car came to a full stop on the Fallbrook off-ramp, according to a police report obtained by TMZ.

The outlet reports witnesses called 911 and when officers arrived at the scene, they found the 24-year-old passed out in the driver?s seat with her foot on the brake pedal.

Police awoke Hasselhoff before taking control of her vehicle. After she failed a sobriety test, officials arrested her before taking her to a nearby hospital for evaluation. When Hasselhoff was cleared from the hospital, she was taken to a nearby jail where she was booked, TMZ reports.

The Huffington Post has reached out to a representative for Hasselhoff and will update this post accordingly.

Montana Democrat Hits Opponent For Health Care Flip-Flop In New Ad

In a new ad released Monday, Montana Democrats attacked Republican House candidate Greg Gianforte for trying to hide his support for the deeply unpopular health care bill passed this month by the U.S. House of Representatives.

The multimillionaire Republican backed the proposed American Health Care Act ? which could imperil health insurance for more than 70,000 Montanans ? in a call with wealthy donors this month. After The New York Times published audio of the call, Gianforte walked back his comments, suggesting last week that he would have voted against the bill.

The ad cuts together clips of local TV news reports about Gianforte?s changing stance on the bill, along with ominous piano music. The ad is running statewide ahead of the May 25 special election to fill the House seat vacated by Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke. The campaign to elect Democrat Rob Quist, a musician and ranchers? son running on a populist platform, paid for the ad.

?Gianforte said he was thankful for a bill that takes away protections for pre-existing conditions and raises premiums,? says the ad?s narrator. ?Thankful, because he got a huge tax break in return.?

Less than one-third of the American public favors the health care bill, according to a HuffPost/YouGov survey published last week. A Fox News poll found similar results.

Gianforte, who narrowly lost a bid to become Montana?s governor last year, leads Quist by about 6 percentage points in the latest poll. At a high-profile event last Friday, Vice President Mike Pence campaigned with Gianforte.

Quist has attracted political star power of his own. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) plans to barnstorm Montana the weekend before the election alongside Quist, who backed Sanders? insurgent campaign against Hillary Clinton in the Democratic presidential primary last year.

The national Democratic Party initially ignored Quist?s campaign, apparently dismissing his bid as a long shot. But as support grew for Quist, who backs single-payer health care and marijuana legalization, the party began to invest heavily in the race. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee injected $400,000 in the contest in May, twice its previous investment. The Democratic National Committee has repeatedly solicited donations from its sizable email list in recent weeks.

Health care could prove a winning narrative for the Democrats. Quist spiraled into debt two decades ago after a botched surgery left him with a ?pre-existing condition? that made health insurance unaffordable. He nearly went bankrupt paying out of pocket for repeated follow-up surgeries.

Quist?s campaign said it raised over $550,000 last week after Gianforte?s health care flub. Total donations now top $3.8 million, with an average contribution of $25 and about 147,000 individual contributors. Sanders, for context, regularly boasted that his average donation was $27 during his failed presidential bid.

Shane Scanlon, a spokesman for Gianforte, did not respond to a request for comment on Monday.

Antonio Sabàto Jr. Divorcing Wife Amid Drug Abuse Allegations

Antonio Sabàto Jr. and his wife Cheryl Marie are calling it quits after five years of marriage.

The former soap star, who recently announced plans to run for U.S. Congress, reportedly filed for divorce back in December 2016, according to TMZ. Sabato Jr. is seeking joint custody of their 6-year-old son, Antonio Kalani, while Marie is asking for sole physical custody over concerns for her child?s safety.

Marie is claiming in documents obtained by the media outlet that her estranged husband struggles with drug abuse. The television presenter and former beauty pageant winner alleges that Sabato Jr. admitted to using crystal meth before they started dating, but has more recently abused benzodiazepines, a class of drugs that are primarily taken for treating anxiety and sleeping disorders.

While Sabato Jr. admits to seeking treatment for an addiction to sleeping pills in the past, he denies the other allegations. A representative for the actor told HuffPost that the accusations are ?unfounded,? but as the divorce proceedings are ongoing, he has no statement at this time.

Coincidentally, Sabato Jr. has made substance abuse and the opioid endemic a central part of his political platform, as he runs for California?s 26th Congressional District seat, against incumbent Rep. Julia Brownley (D).

The 45-year-old, who was one of Hollywood?s biggest supporters of Donald Trump in the last election, filed with the Federal Election Commission earlier this month. According to GOP strategist Charles Moran, Sabato Jr. plans to utilize his connection to the current president as ?a member of the majority party who has good relations with the Trump administration.?

The ?Melrose Place? actor was inspired to run for office after praising Trump at the Republican National Convention in 2016, which he believes was the reason he?s been blacklisted in Hollywood

HuffPost has reached out to representatives for Sabàto Jr. and will update this post accordingly.
